Getting Started

Q: How do I create my first video?

A: Tap "Create Video" on the dashboard, enter your topic or script, select art style and voice, then tap "Generate Video". Most videos are ready in about 10 to 20 minutes; longer videos and premium art styles take longer. You can leave the app and come back — rendering continues on our servers.

Q: What subscription plan should I choose?

A:

  • STARTER ($19/month, 1,200 credits): Regular creators (~30 videos/month)
  • HOBBY ($29/month, 2,000 credits): Serious creators (~50 videos/month)
  • PRO ($59/month, 4,000 credits): Professional creators (~100 videos/month)
  • BUSINESS ($129/month, 10,000 credits): Agencies and teams (~250 videos/month)

Start with a one-time first episode pack: 350 credits, $3.49 for your first purchase (regular $6.99). One-time purchase, no renewal.

Q: How many videos can I create?

A: It depends on your plan and the features you use. Standard videos cost 40 credits, while videos with premium features (Brick Toy/Comic/Storybook Cartoon art styles, ElevenLabs voices, avatar videos) cost 60-170+ credits.

Credits & Billing

Q: How does the credit system work?

A: Credits are used to generate videos. Costs vary based on features:

  • Standard video: 40 credits ($0.80)
  • Art style video (Brick Toy, Comic, Storybook Cartoon): 40 credits, the same as standard
  • Avatar video (Veo 3.1 with audio): 100 credits ($2.00)
  • Premium voice (ElevenLabs): +25 credits (+$0.50)
  • Singing video: 60 credits ($1.20)
  • Watermark removal: 100 credits ($2.00)

Q: Do unused credits roll over?

A: No, credits reset at the start of each billing period. However, bonus credits (earned from feedback or promotions) do not expire. First episode pack credits do not expire while your account is active.

Q: How do I cancel my subscription?

A: Subscribed on the website: sign in, open Settings, find the "Plan & billing" card and click "Cancel plan". You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for and are not charged again. If a trial is running, cancel before it ends and you will not be charged the plan price (the trial start fee is non-refundable). To update your card or see receipts, use "Manage or Cancel Subscription" in the same page, which opens your membership on Whop.

Subscribed in the iPhone app: go to iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → StoryShort → Cancel Subscription.

If the button does not work for you, email support@storyshort.app from the address on your account and we will cancel it for you.

Q: Can I get a refund?

A: Website subscriptions: email support@storyshort.app and we will review it. iPhone app subscriptions: refunds are handled by Apple; contact Apple Support or use https://reportaproblem.apple.com.

Q: How do I earn bonus credits?

A: Submit feedback after generating a video to earn 20 bonus credits (one-time per video).

Features

Q: What art styles are available?

A:

  • Standard (Free): Clean, professional look
  • Brick Toy (+20 credits): Blocky toy-brick animation
  • Comic Book (+20 credits): Comic book visuals
  • Storybook Cartoon (+20 credits): Classic 3D cartoon animation

Q: Can I use my own voice?

A: Currently, we support premium AI voices (23 ElevenLabs voices) and standard TTS. Custom voice upload is not yet available.

Q: How do singing videos work?

A: Enter lyrics, select a music style (Pop, Rock, Jazz, etc.), choose voice type (Male/Female), and duration (30s/45s/60s). We'll generate music with Suno AI and create a lip-sync avatar video with HeyGen.

Q: Can I post videos directly to TikTok/YouTube?

A: Connect accounts in Settings → Publishing Connections. StoryShort can publish completed videos to YouTube. For TikTok, preview the video and send it to TikTok Drafts, then finish the post in TikTok.

Technical Issues

Q: Why is my video generation taking so long?

A: Video generation usually takes 10 to 20 minutes. If it is taking much longer than that:

  • Check your internet connection
  • Close and reopen the app
  • Contact support if it exceeds 5 minutes

Q: My video failed to generate. What should I do?

A:

  1. Check if you have sufficient credits
  2. Ensure your input text is appropriate (no prohibited content)
  3. Try again with a simpler prompt
  4. Contact support@storyshort.app if the issue persists

Q: How do I report a bug?

A: Email support@storyshort.app with:

  • Description of the issue
  • Steps to reproduce
  • Screenshots (if applicable)
  • Your device model and iOS version

Q: The app keeps crashing. How do I fix it?

A:

  1. Force quit the app and restart
  2. Update to the latest version in App Store
  3. Restart your iPhone
  4. Reinstall the app (your data is saved in the cloud)

Account & Privacy

Q: How do I delete my account?

A: Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your data (videos, settings, credits).

Q: What data do you collect?

A: We collect:

  • Email and name (for authentication)
  • Video metadata (titles, scripts, settings)
  • Usage analytics (to improve the app)
  • Device information (for compatibility)

Troubleshooting Guide

Can't Sign In

  1. Check internet connection

Video Won't Download
